I had sent the large final picture which had the link to all the detail work (and the webstats give a pretty good hint that it was looked at). The page was live 1 minute after I clicked Send. Even got the Delivery Notification email, so it was as tracked as I could make it.

very kewl entries this year. the grenth image is my fave but so many are amazing. from the costumes, to the squash serum. the pumpkins were awesome, especially the ranger build. and that video done by snow was excellent. great job. props to all the entrants who have appreciation for the game and are inspired to carry it over to art.

Wow, after having a look at Kiya's site...I didn't realise it was a mural/display thing. I thought it was a painting (which impressed me) but the fact that it is actually real....

So it seems ANet were high when they announced winners. Some kid with photoshop and plagiarism skills got a prize, but Kiya didn't? What the hell.

I would tend to agree with you, however there may be other circumstances that I am not aware of, so I have given them once chance to explain what is going on. If we are not satisfied with it, an alternate winner will be chosen.

hehe as usual i have questions, un-answerable ones

how is this cosplay better than this cosplay or this or this or this or this ? beside the winning entry being "known" around the Arena Net office since around march (i think)?

I'm just saying you know, the "1 Note: All judging was done on a "blind judging" basis, where those involved did not know anything about the contestant, including name, location, gender, or age." does not apply here as the winner have been know for sometime, weather you know her personally or not, this does not apply as the location and gender of the entrant is right here for everyone to see.

Kiya! Wow, I thought it was just a Photoshop or rendering (still awesome) but the fact that it's a handmade model like that is awesome! Did you include all those other shots with your entry? I never would have known from just the picture that you posted that it was real.

I can imagine an excuse: the DA artist and the person in the contest are one and the same. Not saying it's true, just a possibility. If they are the same person, no shame in recycling your own art.
